Peau is the Connecticut office of internationally renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Gregory LaTrenta.
Dr Latrenta is known by his peers not only for his work as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Joan and Sanford Weill Medical College of Cornell University and Associate Attending Surgeon at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, but also an author of two of the best selling medical textbooks in his field,
"THE ATLAS OF AESTHETIC FACE AND NECK SURGERY" and "AESTHETIC PLASTIC SURGERY", 2nd Ed.
With more than twenty five years experience caring for patients at his Park Avenue surgical office, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Manhattan’s Lenox Hill Hospital, Dr. LaTrenta opened his second office in Darien, CT in January, 2015.
Here is an excerpt of an interview with Dr. LaTrenta:
As a plastic surgeon, what made you feel it necessary to address skin care issues at Peau?
"After over twenty five years treating patients at my Park Avenue office, I know they want more than just a face lift or tummy tuck. Women will return to my office again and again, long after their incisions have healed. What they seek is a comprehensive aesthetic program that will help maintain the investment they've made in themselves and even put off the need for further surgery. That's why we now offer services such as light therapy and microneedling in addition to surgery. We also carry a line of medical grade skin products.
Is skin care a replacement for plastic surgery?
"No. Surgery can and does work wonders, and certain issues can only be addressed that way. But radiant skin is what completes the picture of youthful elegance. Modern technology has helped us build and maintain smoother, more perfect skin - which can remarkably enhance one's appearance without the need for surgery. Skin tightening, resurfacing and pigment correction are just some of treatments we use to help my patients glow."
"After the inclusion of lasers in my practice in 1992, I noticed my Manhattan office brimming with women who were driving in from all over Fairfield County just for a 15 minute session.
Since I lived in Fairfield County as well, wouldn't it just be easier for everyone if I could see them there? And so, I began to make myself available for a few Fridays a month, subletting space from a friend in Darien.
For the past 10 years in Darien, my schedule has been packed. So, I decided I needed to spend a bit more time here."
How would you describe "Peau"?
"Peau is a place where my Fairfield County patients can enjoy a comprehensive skin transformation program and a full maintenance regime that includes Botox, fillers, light, and laser technology . Its a place where they will feel welcome and comfortable in a beautiful and homelike atmosphere, without having to drive into Manhattan.
Sounds good. When can I come in for my facelift?
(Laughs.) "I don't perform surgery at Peau. But if you need it, you'll be welcome at my New York surgical office. I also offer surgery at Greenwich and Stamford Hospital as well as New York Presbyterian.
Do you have many people coming into New York from Fairfield County?
Yes. From Fairfield County and all over the world. My New York office includes a very nice facility where you can stay pre or post op, with or without a registered nurse to attend to you. My staff will arrange car service from your home or the airport if you need it. We want people to feel well taken care of all the way around - whether its acne care,
skin service, or a more complicated surgical procedure.
Dr. LaTrenta is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is licensed to practice medicine and surgery in both New York and Connecticut.
